I had the most wonderful day with my kids. Luckily the weather was just perfect so we went out in the yard set up a blanket and talked and played with our cat and dog. The breeze was blowing, the temperature was just right and I was so relaxed I almost fell asleep. I have to say that I also got the best presents from them. They handmade me a journal using my scrabook supplies. You have to know that this was very special because my 15 year old daughter, who orchestrated most of the surprise gift, never wants to scrapbook with me ever. She knew how much I would like it so she jumped right in. When I asked her afterward if she had fun and she said yes, but when I asked to later on today if she wanted to scrap with me a little she gave me a big No thank you. My 9 year son and she said that they would sneak in my scraproom when I was on the computer and grab my supplies and run with them up to their room. They painted chipboard, stamped and even tore paper. Then inside they created and wrote a Mother's Day poem that was so sweet. It was truly a beautiful gift and one I will never forget.

So that was my day ....... What did you do?

Wow! That IS an awesome gift. You will treasure that forever! My kids are too young for that kind of gift- I got the usual little kid crafts from daycare- handmade cardboard picture frame, finger painted flowerpot, and painted potpouri babyfood jar:) But, they were all so VERY excited to show me their creations and know how much I love them. Especially because I am a crafter myself and they know I appreciate the handmade work.- But, my husband also helped them to purchase a new memory card for my camera:) -- It was cold and rainy in the Chicagoland area, so we did some indoor activities and then had my sister over for dinner. It was a great day, despite the weather. SOOO VERY THANKFUL to be a mom of healthy children!

Awww. Sounds like you two had a really great day. I can't wait for those heartfelt handmade kid gifts. smile.gif

I spent the weekend with my mom, who was here for my baby shower. So, baby shower on Saturday, and time with mom and my brother on Mother's day. That was nice. We haven't had a Mother's Day with her, with the both of us, for 10 years. We did a nice brunch and just visited, then she had to be on a plane that afternoon. Quick visit, but it was really nice to see her. She'll be here again on the 7th for the baby's arrival (hopefully I can hold out that long). smile.gif

Yes it is. We're very excited, and terrified at the same time. smile.gif

And it's the first grandchild for my folks. So they're thrilled.

I will! As soon as I can, that is. smile.gif

Could be any day now. I'm due on the 12th, but the doc thinks I'll go early. So we'll see.
